How Potty Police Works

A quick guide for new officers

1. Create a free account

Sign up with email, Google, or Apple at pottypolice.app. The default Free (With Ads) plan includes full map access, search, reviews, and the ability to file new location reports. You can upgrade to Pro or Business anytime from your profile.

2. Explore the map

The Map tab shows restroom and travel-stop pins near you or along your route. Allow location permission for faster centering, or search by city, address, or place name. Tap a pin to open details: average cleanliness score, recent reviews, amenities, and directions.

3. Search and filter

Use Search to find facilities by name or keyword. Results link back to the map and detail views so you can compare options before you stop.

4. Read and write reviews

Officers rate cleanliness and leave short field reports. Honest, specific reviews — soap available, well lit, accessible stall, long lines, etc. — help the next traveler most. You can delete your own reviews from the app.

5. File a new report

Do not see a stop on the map? File a new location report with the name, type of facility, and your initial rating. Community reports are how the database grows beyond major chains and highway exits.

6. Earn ranks

The Ranks screen tracks your contributions. Consistent, helpful reporting moves you up officer ranks — a light-hearted way to thank people who keep the map accurate.

7. Subscriptions

8. Privacy and safety

We collect only what we need to run the service. Location is optional. Read our Privacy Policy for details on data, ads, and account deletion.
